Elementary School Programs

Elementary school OST programs are offered at the following locations: St. Gabriel’s (19146),  St. Malachy’s (19122), Holy Innocents (19124), St. Barnabas (19142), St. Martin de Porres (19132), DePaul (19144), Casa Del Carmen (19140).

Creative programming for ages 5-11 in afterschool hours and eight weeks during summer camp. The program’s core strategy is academic achievement, and offers offer homework help, reading/ math clubs, art, dance squad, ASAP’s chess/scrabble, tech clubs, and STEM Project Based Learning projects.  Partnerships with the Free Library of Philadelphia OST Literacy Initiative (POSTLI),the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (AHG), provide enrichment opportunities that enhance developmental and social skills through collaboration, increase math and reading performance through enrichment activities, engage children in “hands-on, minds-on” learning, and help youth set real world goals for their futures.

Middle School Programs

Middle School Out-of-School Time Program (OST), are offered at the following locations: DePaul (19144), Holy Innocents (19124), and St. Martin de Porres (19132).

These programs provide creative programming for children ages 10-14 in afterschool hours during the school year and eight weeks during the summer camp. The program’s core strategy is“Academic Achievement,” and offers homework help, reading/ math clubs, art, dance squad, ASAP’s chess/scrabble, tech clubs, and STEM-based Project Based Learning projects. Through routine Strengthening Families sessions, parents become engaged contributors in the OST programming. Partnerships with the Free Library of Philadelphia OST Literacy Initiative (POSTLI)and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation (AHG) enhance developmental and social skills through collaboration, increase math and reading performance through enrichment activities, engage children in “hands-on, minds-on” learning, spark student’s critical thinking through STEM, and guide youth in our core values – compassion, hope and community.

High School Program

The Cardinal Bevilacqua Community Center (CBCC) OST, located in the Kensington Section of Philadelphia (19125), provides creative programming for high school youth  ages 13-19 in afterschool hours. The core strategy being “employability”, this program strives to incorporate a mentality of independence and leadership among youth to better prepare them for their future endeavors in society. In partnerships with the Free Library of Philadelphia, this program assists youth with their current academic goals and coaches them to develop plans for the future.  While offering fun, engaging club activities that focus on building communication, collaboration and problem solving skills, CBCC OST helps youth graduate and continue on to post-secondary success. Additionally, CBCC OST has had success operating and implementing the Work Ready Summer Programs. CBCC OST continues to offer programming that enhances developmental/social skills through collaboration, exposes youth to employment paths, and helps youth set real world goals for their futures.
